I have been wondering, why  other people could manage to dispose of their aging parents? I have seen a lot of these and have heard stories of abandonment. I personally could have died just the thought of it.

Our parents were the ones who delivered us into the world. They took care of us, nurture us and love us. As we grow they have tried so much to provide us life’s basic things for us to become healthy and strong. Most fathers toil all day long to earn money for their family. Our mothers would then try their best to make both ends meet. 

Even if they cannot afford to do something they will still try to achieve it. If only they have the power to make the impossible things possible they could have done it. But, they were mere mortals. They could only do things within their limit.

We should have known better, that it is very hard for a parents to endure solitude especially on the waning days of their lives. We should have known that we will become parents
too and old age will soon come and we do not want to be alone too. Life is like a winning race they say, in analogy to this, we can say that our parents are our mentor, our trainer, our couch and we are merely their students, their player. For them watching as grow and become a successful individual  is enough proof of their perseverance to attain the first prize. We should not fail them, we should not fall short of their expectations.

Obedient children as we are, we have the obligation to look after our parents and our elderly and I think that this might be the best time to show them our love and affection. I should not be writing these thing because the love for our parents are innate and is embedded in our culture. I just thought that there is a need for you to be reminded. Remember this, there can always be ex-wife, ex-housemate and ex-husband but there wont be and will never be ex-mother or ex-father or ex-parents!
